Common questions
- Why does a verdict say the two players are close?
- Because they are. Confidence is capped at 95 and a near-tie is reported as one rather than being rounded into a strong call — a fake-confident answer on a coin flip is worse than an honest one.
- Why is one of the six factors missing from a comparison?
- A factor is excluded when it has no data behind it — a bye week, an unpublished projection, a defence with too small a sample. The remaining factors are reweighted to cover the gap, and the panel says which one was dropped and why, rather than quietly scoring it as neutral.
- Where do the numbers come from?
- Projections, snap and target share, defensive matchup data and Vegas lines are pulled from public and licensed feeds on a schedule — most within the hour, game results after each game. Vegas lines are shown as one analytical input among six; nothing here takes or places a wager.
- How do I delete my data?
- There is nothing to delete. The app has no accounts and stores your preferences only on your device, so removing the app removes everything it kept.
- A player is missing or a stat looks wrong.
- Email the two player names and the week and it can be checked against the source feed. Mid-week roster churn is the usual cause, and a missing player is normally a mapping gap rather than a deliberate omission.
One caveat worth stating
Every verdict is an estimate about a football game that has not been played. The factors and their weights are shown on every comparison precisely so you can disagree with one. RosterCalls is an analysis tool, not advice, and is not affiliated with the NFL, any team, or any data provider.
